Yes. It uses a Web Worker, so the timer keeps accurate time even when another tab is active and notifies you when it finishes.

Can I run several timers at once?

Yes. You can run multiple countdowns at the same time, and pin the ones you use often to recall them instantly next time.

A completely free, browser-based Pomodoro timer + work BGM + aesthetic digital clock. Works on iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, and Android. Four features live behind the floating toolbar at the bottom.

Pomodoro timerPunctuate work with 25-minute focus sessions and 5-minute breaks. Durations, cycle counts, and notification sounds are all configurable.
Aesthetic backgrounds & paletteRandom 3-colour palettes (background, text, accent) by default. Switch to curated photo presets or upload your own image.
Work BGM & focus musicBuilt-in work BGM and ambient sounds curated for focus. Combine with the Pomodoro timer to set up a calm focus environment for studying, remote work, and concentrated tasks.
World clock · LanguageSwitch language (Japanese / English) and timezone from Settings. Doubles as a world clock for international meetings or travel.

What is the Pomodoro Technique?
Focus for 25 minutes, then rest for 5. After four cycles, take a longer 15-minute break. Pomo Clock lets you customise focus, short break and long break durations down to the minute.
Is it really completely free?
Yes — every feature is free right now, and there are no ads. We run it as part of Mihata's content marketing.
Will Pomo Clock ever become paid?
If we expand into bigger features (cloud sync, calendar integration, richer notifications), a paid plan may eventually appear. Our intent, though, is to keep the free tier genuinely usable, and to make any paid plan something you'd actually want to keep using.
Do I need an account?
No login required. Open the page in any browser and you're ready. Settings are saved only to your browser's local storage; nothing is sent to a server.
Where are my settings saved? Is my data private?
Only in your browser's local storage and IndexedDB (for uploaded images). Nothing ever reaches Mihata's servers, and there's no account, so no third party can see your data.
Which devices does it work on? Does it support iPhone, iPad, Mac, PC, and Android?
Yes — Pomo Clock runs on any device with a modern browser, including iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows PC, Android, and Chromebook. No installation required; just open the page and start using it.
Does it work without an always-on display? Will the screen stay on?
Yes. Pomo Clock has a built-in screen wake lock — the display stays on as long as the page is open, even if your device's auto-lock is set to a short interval. Just leave it charging and it doubles as a beautiful standby clock, no always-on display needed. Add it to your home screen (PWA) for the best experience.
Does the Pomodoro keep running when the tab is in the background?
Yes — a Web Worker keeps the timer accurate even with the tab hidden. When a session finishes, you get a browser notification (permission required) and an audio chime.
Can I reuse an old iPad or smartphone as a desk clock?
Yes. Open Pomo Clock in your browser, disable the screen auto-lock, and add it to your home screen (PWA). You can repurpose an unused old iPad, iPhone, or Android as an aesthetic desk clock, sleep clock, or standby screen on a charging dock.
Can I use my own YouTube videos or playlists as BGM?
Yes. Open the Music & Ambient panel, switch to YouTube, and paste any video or playlist URL. Playback runs through YouTube's official IFrame Player API, so it stays compliant with YouTube's Terms of Service.
Will Pomo Clock be released on the App Store or Google Play?
Right now we ship as a browser app + PWA (add to home screen). We're considering native iOS / Android distribution and Google Calendar integration in the future. The plan is to grow the free web version first, listen to feedback, and bring those features in over time.
Who builds and maintains this app?
Pomo Clock is built and operated by Mihata, a small team focused on web development, custom AI development and AI integration support.
